Taking Care and Keeping Safe – ROMANIAN*

Sa avem grija de noi si sa ne simtim in siguranta

We all have the right to feel safe, all the time.

This lesson talks about times when we might not feel safe – what are the warning signs that we should look out for and what can we do to feel safe again.
It encourages children to be persistent in asking for help if they feel scared, not to keep unsafe secrets, and to exercise caution with people they don’t know.
It goes on to talk about online communication, which is becoming more common for children of all ages all over the world, and the need for all of us to be sure that we know who we are talking to and to keep our personal information secure.

Important information

Please ensure you have been through the full programme yourself before using it with children.
It may be that some children will choose to let you know they do not feel safe at home, at school or in the community as a result of their learning. It is therefore important you are prepared and know what you will do to support them. Please find out what local support and reporting mechanisms there are in place to pass on child safety concerns safely.

If a child discloses to you or other staff it it very important to respond calmly and kindly.
It is important to say:
Thank you for telling me that.
I believe you.
I am going to do everything I can to help you.
