The Big Give Christmas Challenge
The Big Give Christmas Challenge is the UK’s largest online match funding campaign.
It runs for seven days, starting at 12 noon on #GivingTuesday, November 27th, and all donations made via the Big Give website to during the week will be match funded.
TME is one of hundreds of charities taking part. Last year our supporters helped us raise over £8000 to make our lessons available in Afghanistan for the first time. This year our partner in DR Congo needs your help.
We need your support
In a region where more than half of all women will experience domestic violence, and where most families live in extreme poverty, TME’s partner COFAPRI is working to bring a better future.
Through practical skills workshops and the use of TME’s lessons there have already been some amazing improvements for the local community. Now we want to take this further and use a new lesson to educate men and women, to help them work together to end the violence and sexual assaults that have become normal.
The idea for this has come from the women themselves – they have seen how the lessons have helped so many people learn and live healthier lives, and they believe that the lessons could bring even more deep-rooted change to thousands of people.
Double the impact
The really good news is that for one week only, you can double the impact of your gift by donating through the Big Give Christmas Challenge. Between 27 November and 4 December, your donation will be matched by funds already pledged to this project. The link will be live here on our website, and shared on our social media outlets.
A gift of £30 will pay for one set of DVDs to be distributed in the local community, while a gift of £55 will help those watching the DVDs have access to clean water and soap, so that they can be better protected from the diseases that threaten their health and safety.
