Making the World a Better Place

On 26th October Lord Bilimoria, who was a great friend of our founder – Helen Taylor Thompson, RIP – and remains one of our Patrons, will deliver the first Helen Taylor Thompson memorial lecture.

The event will be streamed live from the offices of KPMG, and will address the theme of “making our world a better place”.

Lord Bilimoria is currently the President of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and will talk about the importance of forging deeper partnership between the charity and business sectors. The lecture will be followed by a Q&A session, with a panel from across the sectors.

The lecture is free and all friends of Education Saves Lives are invited. The event starts at 18.30 BST on Tuesday 26 October.

Ayesha Dikko – Deputy Director, Education Saves Lives.

Clive Dove-Dixon – Chief Executive, Helen Taylor Thompson Foundation (of which Education Saves Lives is a part).

Jyotsna Chandrani – long-term associate and supporter of Education Saves Lives, with a particular interest in projects in India.
Jyotsna works as Director, Operational and Resilience Risk Technology Strategy Lead at HSBC.

Due to coronavirus restrictions in the UK, a memorial service for Helen has not yet taken place, and is currently planned for summer 2022. We hope that the annual memorial lecture will serve as a lasting and fitting reminder of her life and legacy.
